Summary:
Would you die for the one you love?

Nixon Abandonato made his choice. And now he has to pay the price. Tracey is the love of his life, but being with him has made her a target of his family's enemies. The only way to keep Trace alive is convince the world she means nothing to him.

Trace Rooks has fallen irrevocably in love with the son of her family's sworn rival, and she knows in her bones nothing can tear them apart. Until Nixon suddenly pushes her away and into the arms of his best friend... But Trace isn't ready to give up on a future with Nixon--and if he won't fight for them, she will.

In the end, a sacrifice must be made. A life for a life. For what better way to cover a multitude of sins than with the blood of a sinner . . .
MY REVIEW:
Book 2 picks up where book 1 left us. The war between the mafia families is still ongoing, Nixon is still trying to uncover who killed Trace's parents so he can redeem the name of his own family. To keep Trace safe he has his best friend and cousin, Chase, in place as her nearly 24/7 protector. The problem is that Chase has also fallen in love with her and he knows if he acts on his feelings it will be the ultimate betrayal to Nixon.

As with book 1, I LOVED the Romeo/Juliet feel of this story. There's action, romance, suspense, betrayal. It's just full of elements that make up a great story. Nixon is the boss of the mafia, as he inherited the title and position when his father was killed. As such he has to make tough decisions. What sets him apart though is his loyalty and selflessness. Everything he does is ALL for Trace and to keep her safe. Even if that means getting himself killed.

Favorite Quotes:
"Tell me there's a happy ending. ... "Lie if you have to. I just need to hear you say it."

"All it takes is one kiss. One kiss can save you. One kiss can ruin you for life. And my kisses? They better ruin you, Trace."

"You have my heart, but...he owns my soul."

Final Rating - 4.5 stars!
