Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
This week's topic is Top Ten Favorite Authors in X Genre.
As I was thinking about what genre I would pick I kept coming back to the
Paranormal genre - whether YA or A.
1. Richelle Mead - author of Vampire Academy, Bloodlines and Georgina Kincaid series and more.
2. Stephenie Meyer - author of Twilight series and Host.
3. J.R. Ward - author of The Black Dagger Brotherhood series and The Fallen Angels series.
4. Cassandra Clare - author of The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices series.
5. Sherrilyn Kenyon - author of The Dark-Hunters series, Chronicles of Nick series and more.
6. Jennifer L. Armentrout - author of Lux series and Covenant series.
7. Maggie Stiefvater - author of Shiver series and more.
To finish off my list I'm switching to my fave Dystopian/Post Apocalyptic Authors:
8. Carrie Ryan - author of The Forest of Hands and Teeth series.
9. Veronica Roth - author of Divergent series
10. Suzanne Collins - author of Hunger Games series and more.
I found this Top Ten a bit more difficult. After reading the number of books I have over the years, it's hard to remember all the series I've ever read and only a handful still stick out in my mind. Thankfully I can now track my books through Goodreads so that I'm not limited to what my not-so-great memory can recall.
What are your favorite authors? Leave me a comment and a link!
Awesome, I love finding fellow Stephenie Meyers fans! Also really psyched to see Veronica Roth & Suzanne Collins on here...all 3 made my TTT as well this week :) Also dying to read anything Jennifer L. Armentrout, I have Half-Blood at home! Thanks for sharing.

I'm not really a para girl, so I'll just be happy that you included dystopian! I love Roth and Collins! Haven't read any Carrie Ryan yet, but I'm assured by many people that I will love her.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my TTT
Carrie Ryan is awesome as long as you love post apocalyptic books. Zombies!!!

I'm rather fond of Meyer myself. The Host especially, though I loved the Twilight books. And I should read Stiefvater's Shiver saga. The Scorpio Races was a beautifully told story.
ReplyDeleteI have tried to read Scorpio Races and just couldn't get into it. So it's sitting on my night stand waiting for me to pick it back up. Eventually I will.

ReplyDeleteThere are still a lot of authors on your list whose work I need to check out (Richelle Mead, Maggie Stiefvater, Cassandra Clare...)
And yes, it's definitely worth checking into John Green's work :) I recommend Looking for Alaska and The Fault in Our Stars, some of my all time favorites!
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll look into them.

I really need to read Carrie Ryan's Forest of Hands and Teeth series. People keep telling me it's amazing! Cassandra Clare is one of my favourite YA PNR authors, and I need to get round to starting the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I have all the books just sitting and staring at me, waiting to be read!

They are amazing, particularly books 1 and 2 - those are my faves!
DeleteBDB series is pretty awesome too - if you like adult paranormal romance books. Books 1-4 were my favorites!

I have been wanting to read Carrie Ryan's series for a while now. I haven't read a single zombie novel and I kind of want to start with those ones. I am glad you liked them so much.
ReplyDeleteGreat List.
Wait no longer! Hers are not all blood and gore like a horror zombie book.

ReplyDeleteThank you for the sweet compliment. It's definitely a work in progress and as I see all these amazing blogs I feel way behind in the graphic design area....but at least it's functional!!

I love the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon - and I've recently started the Nick series and am loving it too. She'd be in my top ten paranormal authors too. Same with Richelle Mead! Love all of her books.
