Summary:
Hell on earth.
That's what it's like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend, Daniel.
It took them an eternity to find one another, but now he has told her he must go away. Just long enough to hunt down the Outcasts - immortals who want to kill Luce. Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline, a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students: Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans.
At Shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives. Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects that Daniel hasn't told her everything. He's hiding something - something dangerous.
What if Daniel's version of the past isn't actually true? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else?
The second novel in the addictive FALLEN series...where love never dies.
Eh....disappointed I couldn't give a higher rating to installment #2. I would say that the ending (last 50-100 pages) nearly redeemed itself for me, from just giving up on this series altogether. How is it that a book can be just mediocre until those last few pages and then pull you in to want to know what happens next....only to go through another mediocre book until the last few pages again....it's a vicious cycle and I appear to be stuck in it with this series... Overall, glad I read it, but Luce is seriously getting on my nerves. If you have other things to read, I'd recommend reading those first and letting this series just be something you pick up when there aren't any 4 or 5 star books waiting to be read. 3 stars. Amen. I just Passion from Paula this week, but I can't say I'm dying to read it right now.
