Q. What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading?  It is a genre, or is it a certain type of book?

I'm a sucker for a good love story and lately Young Adult or New Adult contemporary romance books have become a huge favorite of mine!  Give me the angst, intensity, passion and sexiness!  I'm not talking about graphic content necessarily either.  The emotionally charged romance books (think of books like: The Coincidence of Callie & Kayden, Beautiful Disaster, Hopeless, Slammed and Point of Retreat, The Sea of Tranquility, Pushing the Limits, Fallen Too Far and Never Too Far, Rule...need I go on?)

I still love my paranormal reads, don't get me wrong!  And the Lux series by Jennifer Armentrout and the Cambion series by Shannon Dermott, still rank very high on my list of faves but hands down my guilty pleasure RIGHT NOW has to be the contemporary romances.  But perhaps I should clarify that it's not "guilt" really, more just that's my preferred genre at the moment.

What about you?  What's your guilty pleasure in books right now?

  1. A lot of people have been posting about romances! It's funny that you emphasize that it's your guilty pleasure RIGHT NOW because I think it's true it changes. I usually don't read any romance but every once in a while I'll pick one up and it'll be a guilty read. But I haven't anytime recently so didn't choose it as mine!

  2. Contemporary books are one of my favourite genres as well. It's not really my quilty read. I still haven't started the Lux series. I've heard great things about it. And I like that it's about aliens. :)

  5. I love some romance in my books! I live in the fantasy genre and if the author can sprinkle a little romance in I'm on cloud 9. That is of course assuming the plot and characters are good. :)
