Feature & Follow is a weekly post hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.
"The goal is to increase blog followers and make new friends."
Q. Have you broken up with a series? If so which one and why?
Ooh, good question this week! Two series come to mind that I dropped like hot potatoes. House of Night by P.C. and Kristin Cast and Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz.
I read the first 9 books in the House of Night series and even loved it at first but grew increasingly frustrated and tired of the series about book 4. I kept reading hoping things would get better and because part of me wanted to know what happened to the characters. After book 9, Destined, I just didn't have any energy or desire to continue on with the series. See my review for Destined here.
Blue Bloods is very similar. Loved it at first and loved the characters but it too became ridiculous and repetitive. The last book I read was #5, Misguided Angel. I read those way before I began my blog and actually reviewing books. If I were to reread them now I'm fairly sure I would rate them lower than my initial rating on Goodreads of 4 stars.
Unfortunately because I must be a gluten for punishment I will probably read the remainder of books in both of these series one day....when I have nothing else that I want to read at the time. There is a nagging within me that wants to know how these series ends. But for now, it's an ex I don't want to revisit any time soon.
How about you? Any series that you broke up with?

I've seen the House of Night series on a whole MESS of lists this week. I take it that I should never ever start the series haha In all seriousness though, I've broken up with a lot of popular series, including Shiver and the Twilight series. I also broke up with the Mortal Instruments series because I felt like it was getting a bit old, you know?
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, Holly :) I'm your newest follower!
Haven't read either. But sorry they didn't hold your interest.

ReplyDeleteThe sad thing about HoN is that books 1-3/4 were really good, That series should've ended a LONG time ago.
