Summary:
Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.

Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.

One thing is for certain, being married to rock and roll’s favorite son is sure to be a wild ride.
My Review:
Along with my obsession with contemporary reads right now I also really enjoy those stories that have a rock star for the MC guy.  Rock star, plus a few tattoos, plus a few piercings, plus a slightly troubled or guarded heart equals hotness!  So that was my only expectation going in to this story.

Evelyn is a planner.  She makes plans for everything in her life, long term, short term, doesn't matter.  Everything has to neatly fit into a plan.  Spending her 21st birthday in Vegas was part of her plan, as was living a little while there.  Waking up in Vegas with a hot tattooed man she doesn't know, hugging a toilet from what must've been a night of puking, the likes of which she's never experienced before, and then seeing a 5 karat ring on her finger most certainly does not fit into any plans she has.  She remembers nothing from that night and it takes awhile to piece together what little her foggy memory keeps throwing at her.  The fact she clearly doesn't remember anything about him or what happened between them does not sit well with the mysterious hottie and he storms out looking dejected and hurt saying his lawyers will take care of everything. This story is a journey for Evelyn that there is more to life than strict plans.  Rarely do our plans work out the way we think they should.

It's not until she arrives back home in Portland that the events from her night she can't remember in Vegas start coming out publicly.  That's when things get real good.  I love stories that focus on the connection between two people.  Years and years together doesn't always mean it's a match made in heaven.  The excitement and realization knowing that someone is right for you doesn't take years to find out and I'm a firm believer that it literally can take just a few days.  You either know it or you don't fairly quickly.  Otherwise doubt lingers.  Why does anyone stay with someone when there is any doubt, no matter how small it may be?

Then there's David...sigh...I won't give much away about him because some things are just better enjoyed and savored as the story unfolds.

Excellent story!  I loved it!  Fans of books like Rule by Jay Crownover, Breathe by Abbi Glines, Devoured by Emily Snow, and various other books about Rock Stars are sure to love this one!

Favorite Quotes:
"Truth was, I wanted him.  All of him.  The good and the bad and the bits in between.  I wanted him more than I'd ever wanted anything before in my life."

"Love isn't always smooth or straightforward.  It can be messy and painful."

"Time is irrelevant where the heart is concerned."

"If love was for fools then so be it.  At least I'd be an honest one."

"Love and heartbreak made you breathtakingly stupid, desperate even."

Final Rating - 4.5 stars
