Summary:
Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.

After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.

All Katy can do is survive.

Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?

Together, they can face anything. But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on? And will they even be together?
MY REVIEW:
What starts out as a slow buildup in the plot finally crescendo's into a whole lot of "what the...?!?", and "oh no, that did NOT just happen...".  Words fail me...so I'll use the words of Katy to sum up my feelings about this book: "Holy Alien Babies!"

Daemon is still amazing, annoying, arrogant, awesome, should I keep going with descriptive "a" words?  No, I think you get the point.  Katy is stronger than ever!  Dawson has fully recovered in health and strength but Beth still seems to be unstable and weak.  Dee makes an appearance as does Andrew and Ashley.  And we are introduced to a few new characters too which are quite intriguing, Luc who you'll remember from previous books from the club and Archer, a Daedalus soldier, are two that stand out to me.

Talk about a big ending!  Where book 3 ends with a huge cliffhanger, book 4 matches that "oh nu-uh, it did not just end that way" kind of feeling.  Grr!!!  (shakes fist at author)  Things are pretty stressful for our favorite aliens and hybrids.

That's all I'm saying folks.  Some books you just HAVE to experience for yourself.  This series is one of them.  There's a lot of  heartache, a lot of gushy sweet moments, a lot of hot (because Daemon and Hot go together like syrup and pancakes), and a lot of action too.  And to think Opposition (the 5th and final Lux book) currently says "2014" as expected publication.  That is incredibly unfair and painful for all Lux fans around the globe.

Favorite Quotes:
"Did you think you could stop me?"...."I'll burn the world down to save her."

Daemon Black could be as prickly as a hedgehog having a really bad day, but underneath all that spindly armor, he was sweet, protective, and incredibly selfless.

Family had always come first for me, and Kat was a part of my family - a bigger part.  She was my future.

"You're my - you're my everything, Kat."

"What can I say?  It's my sparkling personality."

"No one can deny my charm."

"I want a year's worth of seconds and minutes with you.  I want a decade's worth of hours, so many that I can't add them up."

"Well then, it's time to introduce the world to a little bit of extraterrestrial awesomeness."

His kiss...well, it made me.  He made me.  And because of that, I knew it went both ways.  He made me.  And I made him.

Final Rating - 4.5 stars!
