Summary:
Cage York has to choose between a love of the game and a love of the girl in this sultry Sea Breeze novel from New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines.MY REVIEW:
After waiting for his big break, bad boy Cage York is finally called up to prove his worth in the college baseball arena. But when Cage’s girlfriend, Eva, mourns the sudden loss of her father, it’s not Cage’s comforting arms she runs to, but those of her former fiancĂ©’s twin brother, Jeremy.
Torn between his baseball dream and the girl of his dreams, Cage must prove he’s worthy of Eva’s love, or risk losing her to Jeremy forever.
Another great "feel good" kind of story by the fabulous Abbi Glines! I love her hot Sea Breeze men!
In this story, part 2 of Cage and Eva's story, Cage has just been given a full scholarship to play college baseball in Tennessee. Eva plans to go with him but an unexpected illness that her father has changes their plans and she forces Cage to go without her to fulfill his dream of playing baseball. Being apart is very hard on the both of them. While Eva takes care of her dying father, Cage gets pulled to participate in parties with a bunch of his teammates, and unbeknownst to him, one particular teammate who feels threatened by Cage. What transpires does not bring Cage and Eva closer together. With no one else to lean on, Eva leans heavily on the brother of her dead high school sweetheart, Jeremy. Though she doesn't have feelings for him other than a brother, she feels she could learn to love him.
I've read a lot of Abbi Glines books. This Kindle version had a TON of grammatical errors. I was quite surprised by that.
Though not my favorite book in the Sea Breeze series, it's still a great story! Who doesn't love Cage and his dirty mouth? This is a fast read that you are sure to enjoy if you've enjoyed Abbi's other contemporary romance books.
