Haven't read this one yet. But I tore through the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Mass. I've read all of them but the prequel, The Assassin's Blade. Just checked it out from the local library. I like beginning at the start of a series, so I'm adding The Shadow Queen to my TBR list. Interesting that this week I'm reading an author who also has a book titled The Shadow Queen. Anne Bishop is the author and I'm reading Written in Red, from The Others series. Her The Shadow Queen is from her Black Jewels series, which I also enjoyed tremendously. ReplyDeleteThe Shadow Queen by CJ Redwine, from which my teaser came from, is the first in a new series which released today. I'm not far enough into it to determine if I'll love it as much as I did the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas.
ReplyDeleteI've given a few retellings a try and I seem to be consistently feeling mediocrity towards them. Maybe because I get annoyed by reading a story I've seen done too many times (mostly via movies). But with this one, I'm finding the dragon race of people intrigues me. It's a nice spin on the story. So far, I'm enjoying it.
