MY REVIEW:
As eager as I was for this release, and rushed to preorder a hardback copy, it then sat on my night stand for a year and a half. That has nothing to do with the series itself, because I gobbled up book one. It is merely because my desire to read is tied closely to convenience. And for me, holding an actual book, much less a hardback book, (as much as I read) is not convenient. So there it sat collecting dust. Finally, after seeing The 5th Wave movie at the theater, twice, my curiosity was peaked enough to just purchase the Kindle version of The Infinite Sea. And just like book one, I gobbled up book two!

My only complaint was that it was too short! Compared to book ones, 457 (hardback version) pages, this was a little bit of a let down to discover it was only 320 pages! I WANTED MORE!

Wow, this one left me pretty speechless. A lot of what happens was unpredictable to me, didn't see it coming that's for sure. I'm talking some mouth open, "what-the", "oh-no" kind of moments!

In this portion of the series Cassie, Ben, Nugget, Poundcake, Dumbo and Ringer are holed up in an abandoned hotel, which was the rally point for Evan to find Cassie should he survive. But they are faced with a lot of risks, a lot of variables. Staying in one place too long puts them at serious risk. The winter is fast approaching and their location isn't sustainable for the duration of winter time. Plus, Zombie is wounded and not recovering well from events at the end of book one. So Ringer sets out to find a more secure area they can wait out winter.

Several new characters are introduced in this part of the story and add another layer of depth to what is going on. And oh man, some discoveries at the end had my head spinning trying to wrap my mind around just what exactly is going on.

The "F-bombs" were more abundant than I had recalled from book one, but according to my parents (who aren't book reviewers) but were also reading this series as newbies while I was reading book two, reminded me that book one also has a fair amount of language as well.

If you are new to the series, fans of YA science fiction and apocalyptic stories will really enjoy this one!
