Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly post hosted by Wishful Endings.
Each week bloggers participate to spotlight and discuss a book they have yet to read, generally one that hasn't released yet. Can't Wait Wednesday is based on Waiting on Wednesday, previously hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
This week I'm waiting on:
Say You'll Remember Me by Katie McGarry
Expected Publication: January 30, 2018 by Harlequin Teen
Preorder Buy Link: Amazon
When Drix was convicted of a crime--one he didn't commit--he thought his life was over. But opportunity came with the new Second Chance Program, the governor's newest pet project to get delinquents off the streets, rehabilitated and back into society. Drix knows this is his chance to get his life back on track, even if it means being paraded in front of reporters for a while.
Elle knows she lives a life of privilege. As the governor's daughter, she can open doors with her name alone. But the expectations and pressure to be someone she isn't may be too much to handle. She wants to follow her own path, whatever that means.
When Drix and Elle meet, their connection is immediate, but so are their problems. Drix is not the type of boy Elle's parents have in mind for her, and Elle is not the kind of girl who can understand Drix's messy life.
But sometimes love can breach all barriers.
Fighting against a society that can't imagine them together, Drix and Elle must push themselves--Drix to confront the truth of the robbery, and Elle to assert her independence--and each other to finally get what they deserve.
Um, YES PLEASE!
What are you waiting on this week?

I pegged this as NA - is it? Sometimes I find those stories are a bit of a miss for me - however, something about this one felt differently than others I've run across. In fact, being a big fan of "Heartland" (CanTV series) - you could nearly say this was the back-story (almost!) of Ty and Amy! Therein, you caught my attention! Thanks for introducing me to the author + the title - now marked as #nextreads!
ReplyDeleteI am new to #CantWaitWednesday as I modified how I'm writing my #WaitingOnWednesday posts - today I showcased my 1st unboxing!
ps: Just saw your rating system in the sidebar!? You rock! I talk about vulgarity in literature *all the time!* throughout my blog - it's become a 'thing' now in my sidebar cloud! lol I do not oft find someone else whose being cognisant of what is being said in stories and I just wanted to say: Rock on! I was going to follow you on Twitter - I think your on FB instead, right? Oh, dear. We picked opposite socials! :( I will be re-visiting you! :)
ReplyDeleteGah! I am so excited for new Katie McG!!!! She is a fave of mine and really love that grit she brings to her books. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize this was coming out! I read Katie McGarry books a while ago and would love to pick her new one up. Great pick!

You know I'm not sure....but GR currently has a YA tag on it. There's not much to indicate one way or the other. Though if I'm not mistaken most (if not all?) of McGarry's books have been YA. I've heard good things about Heartland but haven't watched it myself.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I didn't always rate language and mature content in my reviews but for at least the last year. It is something I'm always curious about and appreciate a head's up so that's when I decided it was something I needed to add to my reviews. It's subjective though right? What I consider to be "light or medium" others might rate differently. But I think I've done a decent job of being fair in how I rate those.
ReplyDeleteYeah I used to be on Twitter but found that it was just too much social media for me: Twitter, FB and Instagram. So I deleted it and just use FB for my blog. Though admittedly I'm not regularly active with my posts on there. ;-)
Thanks for stopping by commenting!!
I'm hopeful there'll be an egalley for it! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI've never read a book of hers I didn't enjoy.
ReplyDeleteYes!!! She's definitely an insta-read author of mine!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping I'll have the opportunity to read it early. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI just finished the latest 2 of her Thunder Road series. Have you read those yet?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Jessica!
ReplyDeleteHallo, Holly!
ReplyDelete:) Yes, I do understand about how you can get stretched too thin socially online! You have to do what is right for you! :) And, yes, I agree - I think the best we can do is share what is happening when we're reading a story - whether or not someone else will agree or choose to disagree - etc is their choice but we still have to own how stories impact us and how they sit with our impressions of what we've read. I think we all strive to be openly honest about this and hopefully it helps others make better choices ahead of reading stories they might not have read by an author previously.
Ooh! You definitely should watch Heartland! It's so addictive - be sure you can get the series back-to-back - I streamed it on NetFlix but a lot of libraries have the seasonal dvds, too. I eventually want to buy the dvds; hoping they make a boxed set! :) Thanks for updating me about this being YA! I appreciate it!
