Top 10 Books I Read in 2013

Image
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish . This week's topic is Top 10 Books I've Read in 2013. I haven't participated in this feature.....all year I think. This post seems fitting since this is the last day of the year. Out of the 82 books I've read this year, it's going to be very hard to narrow it down to my top 10 favorites. But I am keeping it to 10, there'll be no honorable mentions. Not all of these books earned 5 stars from me however they are all favorites. They all fell between 4 and 5 stars. They all touched me, brought me to tears, made me feel the emotions of the characters in a very real way. Some were very unique stories and a breath of fresh air to the sometimes overdone themes in stories. In no particular order of favoritism, but maybe order of the read date:   1. Waiting for Mercy (Cambion #2) by Shannon Dermott:  It's not often I rate a second book in a series higher than the first, but this is one of...

Feature and Follow is a weekly post hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read . "The goal is to increase followers and make new friends." Rules: Follow the 2 hosts. Follow the 2 featured blogs. Hop around and follow others who are participating, and comment to let them know. This week's question: Pick a book in your favorite genre that you'd recommend to a reluctant reader. This is one of those hard to answer questions because I have varying tastes when it comes to "favorite genres". I find I go through periods where all I read are YA paranormal romances, and then I'll tire of them and switch to only reading YA or NA contemporary romances and then switch again to YA or NA dystopian or sci-fy. Some reluctant readers might be totally turned off by Romances and others want to gag on anything sci-fy or roll their eyes at dystopians. Sigh...How about I make it easy on myself, and all of you reading, and say these were my favorite re...

Feature and Follow is a weekly post hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read . "The goal is to increase followers and make new friends." Rules: Follow the 2 hosts. Follow the 2 features. Hop around and follow others who are participating, and comment to let them know. This weeks question: Bookselling Time. Go to your biggest bookcase. Go to the second shelf from the top and pick out the sixth book from the left. Hardsell that book to us - even if you haven't read it or if you hated it.  (if you don't have bookcases, don't have six books on one shelf, etc, pick a book at random). I've got a hardback copy of Richelle Mead's The Indigo Spell, which is the third installment in her riveting Bloodlines series. Dust cover included in perfect condition! (After all, I don't keep those on while reading). I had the joy of reading this through once so really one could argue that it's still in "like new" condition. Do you ...
