Review - Hold on Tight by Abbi Glines

This week my kids and I were out of town to participate in a VBS with my brother's church. We have been going for the last 3 summers and enjoy helping and being a part of it. This year we did a service project every day and even though the kids didn't always view it as "fun" it was such a growing experience and it was by far the highlight of my days this week!  Thankfully I did finish one book which was a quick read and started another but reading and blogging time was very limited so I basically took any pressure off myself to blog.

But my really big book related news from this week is that I finally went through and DNF'd a bunch of books, 32 to be exact) that I no longer have interest in reading or tried and put down. What a sigh of relief, mentally, this caused! This was a first for me, ever - to DNF a book(s) - and a major step but I feel so much lighter. It's amazing!

Then this weekend we celebrated my little buddy's 2nd birthday (who I keep during the school year). His party was a circus theme and boy did his Mom and Gigi (grandmother) do a fantastic job of decorating and with games and a photo booth and tables of food and clowns and more! For the party planning enthusiast in me, I was in hog heaven with ideas to recreate should I ever have the opportunity. We had a blast! Here's a picture of my "Family of Clowns" to leave with you. Enjoy your week friends!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Wow...I can't believe you didn't get any new books this week! I think this must be a first since you started blogging! Congrats on two milestones this week (DNFing and no new books)! :)

  3. Love the picture! Great about getting no new books this week and on DNF'ing all those books. I hate doing it but you're right about feeling lighter when it's done! Have a great week!

Not a first since I started the blog, but definitely a rarity. I think my longest time to go without books sits at 21 days. I've gone on self-imposed book buying or book requesting bans during the last 3 years. This past week though my not getting any wasn't on purpose...and yeah, it won't last for this coming SP as I've already bought 2. ;)

Good big or go home, right? That was books since I started blogging 3 years ago so it was high time to purge them out of my bookshelves.

3 years worth of books to DNF - it needed to be done. Thanks for stopping by Katherine!
