So this week the book-to-movie adaptation of If I Stay comes out. I have plans to go and see it but haven't yet read the book. Need to get on that, don't I?

I saw several people post this past week that there was only 18 Friday's until Christmas. Geesh! Ya'll - I really need to focus on one holiday/event at a time otherwise I find myself rushing through moments and memories. I don't like living that way. I have always tried to live in the moment, making the most of whatever that was, especially once I had kids. I didn't want to look ahead to when they could talk, or walk, or start school. I didn't want to look back and feel sad that I missed out on important monumental moments in their life. (with exception to maybe potty training since my kids were older, 3 years for my son and 4 years for my daughter).

We've got FOOTBALL season starting the end of this month. Our team of preference is Auburn! Then there's Halloween and Thanksgiving and in between all of that 7 family members celebrate birthday's. So yeah, Christmas isn't all that far away, but there's a lot of fun times between now and then. So enjoy one day at a time! Soak up all the memories that one day can provide.

In other news, my 7th grader tested for an instrument in beginning band this week. His preferred instrument was percussion but out of 27 beginning band students only 3-4 were going to be chosen to play drums. He anxiously waited all week to hear and on Friday they were given their assignments. He was picked as a percussionist! I loved seeing his smile while he shared his good news with me.

Lastly, my bestest friend and I celebrated our 16th year of marriage on Friday. We were super young when we got married (19 and 18) but God has blessed our relationship and has been walking with us every step of the way, every high and every low. I'm excited to say that we've come through hard times and continue to share life in this crazy world together.

Thanks for stopping by!

  4. War Eagle! Looks like that's where my senior will be starting school next year. Trying not to think about it though as I'm not sure I'm ready. I really don't want to know there's only 18 Fridays before Christmas. That's not nearly enough! I'm curious about Burying Water. Looking forward to the reviews on this one. Have a great week!
