MY REVIEW:
For a conclusion of a series I would say that I'm semi-satisfied. I do like my happily-ever-afters so I'm pleased about some aspects (keeping vague for those who have yet to delve into the world of True Calling), but since I've always been on Team Zane I can't honestly say that I'm 100% happy with the way the series ended. I've always felt that Ariana had a deeper soul connection with Zane and a more lustful connection with Cal. Through most of the story I was always questioning how she could ignore her deeper feelings, even though she claims she can't get past a decision they made together. That their relationship was tainted because of it. It never did make much sense to me. Zane was the one person who was always there for her, from the time she was about 14 up. He continually sacrificed an incredible amount for her - including his own heart and love. And in the end, it seems he literally settles for someone else. Meh.... Thumbs down!

Aside from my feelings over the love triangle between Ariana, Zane and Cal, this part of the story is the culmination of the war between the rebels and the government. Much of the book is battle scenes between them and the preparation to take back their planets, Earth and Novo. So there's a ton of action. When there's down time it's infused with emotionally charged scenes and definitely some butterfly worthy scenes.

Though I didn't start out loving the series, I will say that I felt that the writing improved in each book, and the early irritations I had became close to nonexistent with each book. By the end I was able to enjoy the story, read through it quickly and overall say that I enjoyed the series.

If you enjoy YA science fiction mixed with romance then give this series a try!

Check out my reviews of the earlier books:
True Calling #1 - (3 stars)
Lovestruck (True Calling #1.5) - (3.5 stars)
Beyond Reach (True Calling #2) - (3.5 stars)
Light of a Thousand Stars (True Calling #2.5) - 4 stars

Favorite Quotes:
But war means sacrifices in the name of the greater good. We have to accept that it'll get harder before it gets easier.

We have a real connection, Ari and I. A connection that is built on the foundation of friendship, one that transcends attraction and lust, a true relationship that signifies how deep our feelings run, the strength of our love.

And isn't that what real love is? Accepting each other for our faults as much as our strengths?
