ARC Thursday Review - Assassin's Heart by Sarah Ahiers

Not too much of a busy week which lead to some productive reading time. This weekend I took my kids to see The 5th Wave. I always HATE when film makers (maybe screenwriters?) include cussing in a tv show or movie that has young people as actors and will have even more teens and kids going to see the film. That was my one pet peeve. Yes, some things were added/changed, but overall we all enjoyed it. Hearing my 12 year old and one of her friends express their disappointment that she didn't choose Ben was quite hilarious. Maybe because the actor only looks like he's 15 so they related more to him. It was a very diverse crowd in our theater seeing the movie. So I would say it's safe to say that this film will appeal to all age ranges and backgrounds.

If you are reading last books in a series you should participate with us in our 3rd year of the 2016 Series Ender Reading Challenge! Anyone can sign up to participate until December 15, 2016! Go HERE for full details and to sign up. We have a giveaway EVERY month open to those that link up reviews and a BIG giveaway open to everyone that participated through the year. Don't miss out!

Enjoy your week!
Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I don't love language for younger actors either. I'm glad you enjoyed The 5th Wave overall. Have a great week!

  4. Since having my daughter, I notice cursing more in films and TV shows. I don't see the point in including it a lot of the the time when the show or film is aimed at the younger crowd either. Eventually I hope to read The 5th Wave and then see the movie. We've been watching the Harry Potter movies at our house as of late. I hope you have a great week!

  5. I was a kid in the 80s, and some of the PG kid movies that came out during that time would make most people blush lol. I actually thing swearing has been toned down a bit since then. We took our kids to the new Star Wars movie and it only had one swear word in it :)
