Feature & Follow is a weekly post hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read . "The goal is to increase followers and make new friends." Activity: Back to school.  Create a reading list for the imaginary English Lit class you'll be teaching this semester. Oh.My.Stars.  This could not be more difficult.  I HATED the books I was forced to read in high school.  It was one of the reasons I put down books for so long.  Books like Beowulf, Great Expectations, Les Miserables, To Kill a Mockingbird....  hated them.  ALL of them!  One could argue I'm not a fan of classics. Instead I think my list would go something like this: Even though I've never finished it personally, it's one classic I have enjoyed (minus the hard-to-understand-at-times-language). How about talking about a book or series that's popular at the time but something that you can get deeper in, such as the strength and weakness of character traits as shown i...

Feature & Follow {35}

Feature & Follow is a weekly post hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read . "The goal is to increase bloggers and make new friends." Q. How do you handle a book you don't like?  Do you DNF or do you power through? I'm not opposed to DNF a book, but I've never actually done it.  In the life span of my blog I've only lowly rated 2 books as 2 stars and one of which was a Netgalley ARC.  I think that the reason I don't come across more books that I might would rate really low is because I don't even consider a book that has less than 3 stars on Goodreads.  Typically the rating on Goodreads is a decent guide as to whether I would enjoy it or not.  I am slightly OCD so the thought of not finishing a book or series I've started eats away at me....so I usually just power through and try to find a redeeming quality or something positive I liked about the story. For follow consideration, please choose one or both of these methods by c...
