Feature & Follow {24} *FEATURED BLOGGER*

Image
Feature & Follow is a weekly post hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read . "Increase blog followers, gain book blog followers and make new friends with the Feature & Follow blog hop." This week I am a featured blogger at Alison Can Read .  How exciting!!!   Q. If you could hang out with any author (living) who would it be and what would you want to do? Any author living....this is a toss up between two.   Abbi Glines - she is an Alabama native, which I also share as my home state - and Alabama girls are a lot alike usually.  PLUS Abbi knows her romance and I drool over her books and her awesomeness.  The tie for first place pick also goes to Jennifer L. Armentrout .  She brought us the fabulous Daemon Black (among many other delicious guys like Cam) and a lot of times when she does interviews or book signings Pepe goes with her (for those who don't know who that is, he's the model that plays Daemon on the covers of the books) ...

Cat Thursday: Jogging Buddy

Cat Thursday is a weekly post hosted by The True Book Addict . You can join in by posting a favorite LOL cat pic, famous cat art, or even share pics of your own cat(s). Don't forget to share your link in the linky post on the hosts page. Last night while jogging with my 9 year old daughter, we made a friend.  This kitty lives around the block from us and mostly stays outside so we see him/her (not sure which) when we drive by everyday.  I'm going to call it a "him" for the sake of this post.  So when we came jogging by yesterday he was super friendly and wanted snuggles.  We were happy to oblige! He is so fluffy and pretty - though needs a good bath and brushing.  If he didn't have a home I'd take him home with us in a heartbeat!!!

Feature & Follow {23}

Image
Feature & Follow is a weekly post hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read . "Increase blog followers, gain book blog followers and make new friends with the Feature and Follow blog hop." Q. We are about to see a lot of posts & tweets about reader conventions.  RT, BEA, ALA, and many more are starting soon.  Which one would you love to attend?  Where and why? Many of these things are still very new to me and I know very little about reader conventions.  I know of BEA mostly because I first learned about it from my snl ( Somewhere Only We Know ).  She would like for her and I to go to NYC to one sometime in the future.  Why that one?  #1 - I LOVE NYC!  For those who love the lights and glamour of a big city, nothing else compares (IMO).  Add to that all the authors and publishers in one place giving away free books and other goodies and panels to talk about upcoming books too...it's like Book Reader Heaven.   As...

Crossing the Line (Pushing the Limits #1.5) by Katie McGarry Publication Date: April 1st, 2013 by Harlequin Teen Goodreads / Amazon Katie McGarry captivated readers with her “riveting, emotional”* Young Adult debut, Pushing the Limits. In this gripping novella, she tells the story of Lila and Lincoln, who discover that sometimes it’s worth crossing the line for love… Lila McCormick, Echo's best friend from Pushing the Limits, first met Lincoln Turner when tragedy struck both their lives. But she never expected their surprise encounter would lead to two years of exchanging letters—or that she’d fall for the boy she’s only seen once. Image
Teaser Tuesday is a weekly post hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading . Anyone can play along - just go here to read how to participate! Today's teasers come from Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare Teasers:  " And you're trying to get yourself killed because of it, Nephilim boy?  Is that what's going on? (Loc page 318) I am currently only on page 24 of this so picking teasers is hard without ruining anything for myself. This one is quite intriguing to me! Share your teasers with me by leaving a comment with a link to your post!

In My Mailbox 26 & Sunday Post 25

Image
In My Mailbox is a weekly post hosted by The Story Siren . Each week bloggers participate to share what books they received. I haven't purchased any books for 15 days now.  Honestly even if I wanted to purchase them I have had zero time to read anyway.  I did however get approved for one from Netgalley. Dare You To (Pushing the Limits #2) by Katie McGarry Expected Publication Date: June 7, 2013 by Harlequin Teen Ryan lowers his lips to my ear. "Dance with me, Beth." "No." I whisper the reply. I hate him and I hate myself for wanting him to touch me again.... "I dare you..." If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk's home life, they'd send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. So she protects her mom at all costs. Until the day her uncle swoops in and forces Beth to choose between her mom's freedom and her own happiness. That's how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn't want...

Feature & Follow {22}

Image
Feature & Follow is a weekly post hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read . "Increase blog followers, gain book blog followers and make new friends with the Feature and Follow blog hop." To view the blog hop rules go here . Q. Have you ever read a book that you thought you would hate? Did you end up hating it?  Did you end up loving it?  Or would you never do that? I participated in a book club a couple of years ago and the downside (to me) about a book club is having to give up time you would normally choose a book that is in your preferred genre to read something that somebody else picks out which may not be anything you would normally choose.  That could be disastrous to the desire to read and there were a couple I DNF.  There were ones I felt strongly I wouldn't enjoy and didn't.  But the one that sticks out the most to me during that time was The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson.  I was not in any way stok...

Cat Thursday: Knuckle Bump

Image
Cat Thursday is a weekly post hosted by The True Book Addict .  You can join in by posting a favorite LOL cat pic, famous cat art, or even share pics of your own cat(s). Don't forget to share your link in the linky post on the hosts page. This week I'm sharing a video of my friend Andrew's cat, whose name is Butler.  Andrew taught Butler to knuckle bump - brilliant! He officially takes the spot as "the coolest cat I know" simply by this video. About the only thing I ever trained Luckie to do was to play hide-and-seek.  But he tended to get really mean when he would find me - so it really became a game of  him saying "you hide and I attack you with my sharp teeth when I find you."  When his ears laid back and his eyes got as big as saucers I knew the game had ended and he was targeting me for pain. Have you trained your cat to do anything really cool? Share it with me!

Teaser Tuesday #12

Image
Teaser Tuesday is a weekly post hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading . Anyone can play along - just go here to read how to participate! Today's teasers (and probably for the next couple of weeks) come from Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare: Teasers: "But you're dead," Tessa gasped, backing up a step.  "I saw you die--" (Loc page 205) To say I've started this book would sort of be a jump, unless you consider the prologue as "having started".  Since coming home from Spring Break I've been so busy that I haven't had much time to devote to reading.  Be prepared to see more teasers for this book over the next couple of weeks. What are you reading this week? Before you go be sure to enter my Fairy Tale Giveaway which ends today!

Walking Disaster - Review

Image
Walking Disaster (Beautiful #2) By: Jamie McGuire Published: April 2, 2013 by Atria Books 448 pages Source: Netgalley ARC from publisher ( Goodreads / Amazon ) Summary: Finally, the highly anticipated follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster. Can you love someone too much? Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder. In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees. Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes. My Review: First of all, my review of Beautiful Disaster is here .  A lot of what I said there could be said for this book as well and so in the effort to not repeat myself unnecessarily  please refer back to that review for more of my thoughts.  I rated that book fair...
