Each week bloggers participate to share any books received and news from their week.

I have decided that for 2014 I'm not going to stress over getting reviews or various other posts scheduled early or way in advance. My reality is that I just don't have much time to read during the school year and I've talked about this numerous times. I want to try to have new content on my blog each week for those that follow me, and that's still an ongoing goal, but to keep it stress free I'm just going to relax a little and post when I can.
I've been reading Allegiant since January 1st - and normally this would stress me out that I'm taking so long to finish it because originally I had a review for this book scheduled for January 6th. Clearly, I'm behind and unfortunately this one book has totally blown my schedule for my ARC Thursday reviews for January. Not to mention I've also been on a regular reading hiatus due to my current obsession with watching Downton Abbey. Much of the free time I've had I've spent mostly catching up on the show - and I'm only in the middle of season 3!
In other blog news, the 2014 Series Enders Reading Challenge I'm co-hosting has 15 participants so far! Yay! If you haven't joined up yet be sure you do! We will be hosting a giveaway each month for those that participate and a BIG giveaway at the end of the year for all participants! Click on the picture to learn more and to sign up!
Thanks for stopping by!
I think as long as you find what works for you and makes you happy the blog will be fine. Stressing takes the fun out of it. I still haven't read Allegiant, I planned to read in car to Denver but it never happened..LOL
ReplyDeleteOOoh nice! I absolutely LOVED Alice in Zombieland! Hope you enjoy it once you get to it!
ReplyDeleteCan totally understand trying to squeeze in reading during the school year. When I was a student--admittedly it wasn't all that long ago, I only graduated college almost 4 years ago--I barely got reading time in. I always made sure to have something being read to help keep me sane amidst all the school stuff going on. Don't ask me how that actually works, because I wouldn't even be able to explain it to myself! Of course I was also working part time during school so I read the book during my break.
But anyway, hope things get under some control for you soon and that you get back to a regular reading schedule for your own sake! :)
Happy Reading!

Oh, it's not MY schooling. haha It's my kids (6th grade and 4th grade) AND during the school year I'm a full time nanny to a little boy who is currently 19 months old. So all of that combined equals little time for me to read. The whole "their homework is my homework" saying is VERY true. Summer time is when I manage to get a lot of books read.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by Jessica!
I agree! Most of the time the stress that's there is because we put it there unnecessarily. Time to purge the unnecessary!
ReplyDeleteI have put off Allegiant, even though I bought it release week, because of the semi-negative mixed reviews on it. And as such it's taking me forever to read. 43% through as of today but even still here I sit about to watch a little Downton Abbey. Ha!
I've decided I'm not stressing about posts unless they are time sensitive like for tours or if I promised them on a certain date (not many of those). I'll let the posts fall where they may. :)
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhh! Well, it's almost like the same thing then! ;)
ReplyDeleteIndeed!! I definitely feel like I'm back in school way too often. Just this week my daughter ha a rainforest project due that I've been helping her with.
ReplyDeleteMy sentiments exactly!! Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI have Alice in Zombieland too but I haven't read it. :)) and the reading challenge you are hosting sounds fun, I think I'm gonna join in :D
