So this weekend was a traveling one. Friday evening we traveled 2 hours north to a varsity football game for my kids school, in which the team finally won a game! Saturday I rode as a chaperon on one of the buses of our marching band, of which my son plays. They had a competition and were so excited to bring home 9 awards out of the 10 they could've won! They won superior ratings in all their categories: Drum Major, Color Guard, Pit Percussion, Battery Percussion and overall band. They then won 4 Best of Class 2a awards, out of the 5 they could've won: Drum Major, Color Guard, Battery Percussion and best overall class 2a band! For my son's first time being in the marching band of his school, it was a wonderful experience! A long weekend with lots of miles traveled but special memories I'm so thankful for! I'm so proud of these kids and love bragging on them! Below is a picture of my son (kneeling with the thumbs up) and his fellow pit percussion band mates with their awards and then a group shot of all of the rookie band members this year - all of which were promoted to marching band and are in the 7th and 8th grade! (Most of you probably know that marching bands consist of 9th-12th graders primarily) These smiles say it all!

  4. Crown of Midnight is my favourite in the series but I've only read the first two plus the prequel novella bind-up so far. I hope you enjoy it.
