Feature & Follow #60

Image
Feature & Follow is a weekly post hosted by  Parakunkee  and  Alison Can Read . "The goal is to increase followers and make new friends." The Rules: Follow the 2 hosts. Follow the 2 features (new each week). Hop around and follow others that are participating, leaving a comment to let them know. Answer this week's question in your own blog post. This week's question: How do you write your reviews? I don't have any set complicated method to writing my reviews. I write them pretty much immediately after I've finished reading the book because I am likely to forget details and my initial thoughts, reactions and feelings if I wait more than a day. I go with my gut instinct when it comes to my final rating. I try to be honest about what I did and didn't like. So yeah, that pretty much sums up how I write my reviews. What about you? Do you have a method? I'm curious to see the various ways others interpreted this question....

This week's question: How do you decide what books to read? Typically it boils down to 2 main factors: is the cover appealing and is there a love story involved? A close second to these reasons would be: am I a fan of the author; is the synopsis unique and/or intriguing, and is the rating above 3.75 stars on Goodreads?  What about you? Are you a cover snob like me? Do you have some method for weeding through the gazillions of books at your disposal? As this is a follow blog hop, please don't forget to follow and leave a comment letting me know how you did. I prefer GFC, Email, FB an...

This week's question: How did you come up with your blog title and address? Does it have a special meaning for you? - suggested by The Paperback Princesses So I started my blog back in October 2012 and wrote my second post on my blog title, originally posted  here . Here is what I had/have to say about my blog title: I find that I am always interested to know the story behind how one chooses a blog title or webpage title.  It’s always a glimpse into that person’s creative side, however small or large that may be.  So for those curious in nature, like myself, here’s the “sto...

Follow the 2 features (new each week). Hop around and follow others that are participating, leaving a comment to let them know. Answer this week's question in your own blog post. This week's question: Do you like fantasy or realistic books? If realistic fiction equates to contemporary fiction, then I would say I like both fantasy and realistic books equally. I go through spurts where I'm craving all things fantasy...and then things get boring for me and I switch back to contemporary fiction and eat up a bunch of those. Back and forth I constantly go. But there's a bunch of labels that fall in between those, isn't there? Sci-Fi, Dystopian, Paranormal, etc... I'm all over the map with what I enjoy reading. It's more about the characters and how I relate ...

This week's question: Do you read more than 1 book at a time, and if so, how, like a certain number of pages per book before moving on to the next one in the queue? I have attempted this in the past, maybe reading one book on my Kindle app, and one hard print book and switching in between the two depending on where I was reading and which was more convenient. Inevitably though, one book would always take up more of time than another and I found that I wasn't really making faster progress by reading multiple books at a time. So for probably the last 2 years I've been a one-book-at-a-time k...

This week's question: IF YOU COULD READ A BOOK FOR THE FIRST TIME AGAIN, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY? Hmmm.....I'm going to go with Slammed by Colleen Hoover.  Ya'll - this story (and when I say "this story" I really mean books one and two) made me WEEP . Yes, literally, snot nosed crying. The story of Layken and Will really touched me deeply. I haven't read it a second time yet, and I know that when I do it will probably have me tearing up, but my initial reaction probably won't be the same.  What about you? What one book would you choose? For follows, I recently added my blog to Facebook , so I would appreciate any "likes...
