Fashionable or Not? - ThredUp

Image
Fashionable or Not? ThredUp For this fifth installment of my Fashionable or Not? feature I'm going to share about about a clothing website I recently learned about. You may recall in my first Fashionable or Not? post I talked about how I rarely, if ever, purchase clothing, shoes and accessories at full price. I'm always looking for a coupon to use on top of a great sale price. Well this newest-to-me site is perfect! It's addicting. Be forewarned! A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine who lives in the southwest U.S. posted on Facebook about a website she frequently shopped online from called ThredUp with a 40% coupon code (I'll share that in a bit for ya'll). ThredUp  is an online consignment shop that resells "gently used" and/or "new with tags" name brand and designer clothing for women and children at up to 90% off cost. There's free shipping on orders over $70, otherwise a flat shipping rate of $5.99. There's a free re...

Fashionable or Not? - Stitch Fix #1

Fashionable or Not? Stitch Fix #1 For this post I'm going to share with ya'll my first experience with Stitch Fix . I had read about and seen a few people I personally know talk about wanting to try it. The concept appealed to me but not having anyone I KNOW personally having tried it, I wasn't sure how it would go. I'm willing to try (almost) anything once.  Remember in my first Fashionable or Not?   post I talked about how I won't buy anything (clothes, shoes, accessories) unless it's on sale, I have a coupon or both? Well....remember this standard of mine because I will come back to it. For those who have no clue what Stitch Fix is about, let me give you the basics: ~ Step One: fill out a pretty detailed questionaire on what your sizes, favorite colors, favorite styles, etc... are. ~ Step Two: set up when you want your first fix to arrive. You will be charged a fee of $20 when the package ships out to you. This is the fee to use the se...

Fashionable or Not? - Introduction

Image
Welcome to my new feature, Fashionable or Not? , at Words Fueled by Love!  Second to my love of books (which is the sole purpose and use of this blog) is my love of finding clothes at a reasonable price. I often tell people that I try to avoid making a purchase for any clothes, shoes or accessories (and many other things but for the purpose of this feature we will stick with those categories) unless I can find it on sale, use a coupon or both. Basically, I hate paying full price!  I have a friend who taught me the art (and yes, it is an art) to shopping the sales racks. Ever since then, my eyes were opened. If I can't get it on sale or use a coupon then I don't buy it. If I'm shopping online and shipping isn't free or $5 or less, then I don't shop there. A girl on a budget has to have standards, yall! For this first post in addition to introducing this new feature, I'm going to talk about 2 of my favorite ways to get coupons/discounts and a couple...
