This week has been a rainy one. Every day. Rain. Rain all day. Gloomy. Blah. And so by the end of the week I was feeling the effects of no sunshine. Energy level was down, and for some reason felt extremely nauseous Thursday and Friday. Slept for 11 hours and 45 mins Friday night. That's weird for me! But woke up feeling fantastic on Saturday. And there was a break in the rain. So maybe my body needed a rejuvenation period. I say all of that to say that by Saturday I was only 53% through a book I've been reading for 9 days (as of Saturday) and it's only 158 pages!!! UGH! If that's not a reading slump - and not necessarily because of the book - then I don't know what is. (actually I do, but that's beside the point for this post) Seeing as how I have this book scheduled for a review this week I need to get busy and finish it.
Here's hoping for sunshine this week! My mental and physical well-being could really use the natural Vitamin D!
Enjoy your week friends.
Thanks for stopping by!
Sorry to hear about the rain. And the reading slump. I've had books like that. Where it just seems to be taking forever to get through. But yet, you can't DNF it, because you're enjoying it for the most part. Drives me nuts too!
ReplyDeleteNice! I really enjoyed The Shattered Court. It had its moments where I was like, is this read really for me? But then something would happen and I would be like oh wow! So I definitely enjoyed it more than I thought I would! It was pretty awesome!
Your other new read is totally new to me but I hope you enjoy both of your new additions!
Here's my STS
Have a GREAT day!

We had lots of sun this week, but the beginning of spring always makes my head feel stuffed and I need more sleep. It seems for me the warm weather makes me more tired than the cold. I sleep about 10 hours every night and sometimes get in 12 hours of sleep although that's certainly unusual for me too, it can feel really refreshing to sleep so long. I hope you get out of your book slump soon!
ReplyDeleteThe Cover for Shatter Court is gorgeous. I look forward to your thoughts. Sounds like your weather is just like ours. Still raining here today and my grass so needs a trim. On the upside everything is blooming.
ReplyDeleteThe Shattered Court was really good. I totally liked it. I hate reading slumps, but they don't last forever. Enjoy your new books.

The cover won me over on that one! I can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it though? That was what drew me in initially. And second to that would be my love for all things High Fantasy right now. Super excited to read it!!
ReplyDeleteThis is me crying at the mention of "lots of sun". We did see the sun peak out for half the day Saturday and half the day on Sunday. The kids got to play outside and it was glorious. Everyone is getting cabin fever from all this rain!
ReplyDeleteYeah I don't feel this is DNF worthy, not when I've loved the series so much. It's completely my mood which is why I've pushed through.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read The Shattered Court! Hopefully I'll knock out several ARC's during May's challenge with Kimba!
Girls facing backwards on book covers like The Shattered Court is very fashionable right now. You could do one of your fashion posts on that. HAHA
ReplyDeleteMY WEEK IN REVIEW
Have a great week!
My SNL who blogs over at Somewhere Only We Know, does a feature on similar book covers called Cover Doubles. I'll have to give her the idea. :-) Thanks for stopping by!
