So I volunteered to put together a slide show for my daughter's 5th grade "graduating" elementary class, of which there are 83 kids. What I thought would be an easy project has turned into a nightmare of epic proportions!! All week I have worked to put this thing together using Powerpoint, and my sweet husband has helped on the technical side to synchronize the audio I wanted to the slides I wanted them on. All was going well....until we tried to convert the slide show into a video. If my husband, whose degree is in Computer Science and who has worked in various IT fields for the last 16 years, can't figure out the issue of trying to burn this slide show as a video and maintain both image quality AND audio placements....then I don't know who can. Lesson learned to self - never again volunteer to put together a slide show.
So my week has been a hair pulling, frustrating week. Here I sit on Saturday evening STILL trying to burn 100 discs, with my deadline looming ever closer (Tuesday the 19th). Have I already told you how ready I am for this school year to be OVER?!? This last week could not come soon enough...
On the positive side, I did read 2 ARC's, granted they were short, and have made it through 50% of another longer one this week. So that's 3 goals off of the May Clean Sweep ARC Challenge!
Hoping your week has been far less stressful than mine!
Thanks for stopping by!
Sorry the slideshow has been a nightmare. I had some issues translating the slideshow I did for mom's 60th birthday to video too. Glad you're knocking out some of your ARCs. I got Chasing River too. See you in a bit.

I finally got approved for Daughter of Dusk this week as well. I see that you got the K.A Tucker book as well. Have a lovely weekend.

Tim finally figured out a solution that we both liked. He had to download another program to use, but the pictures are crisp and clear - whereas using Windows DVD maker and Roxio the picture quality suffered greatly. I have burned 30 discs so far and each disc takes about 4 mins to burn. So I'm making progress. The bummer was we had to sacrifice the cool menu through Windows DVD Maker. But I'd much rather have clear pictures than a menu.
ReplyDeleteI have all 3 of the Burying Water books....I think I need to read them now. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love Tucker and look forward to reading the newest book. LOL on the slide show, but next time you will know how to do it!
