ARC Thursday Review - Legacy of Kings (Blood of Gods and Royals #1) by Eleanor Herman
This has been one crazy busy week that ended with more than I imagined. We literally have something going on EVERY night of the week currently and well, by the weekend I'm exhausted from all the chauffeuring back and forth across town to school, band practices and/or school events, and other things (and high school football games start on the 21st!). It's not that I don't enjoy the things that I or my children have going on, but it takes a toll on you to never have down time. I haven't been able to read as much as I would like the last few days of the week. One might think with children at school and being a SAHM that there would be loads of free time. NOPE! At least not for me. With keeping a toddler during the day on top of my normal daily activities (and now nightly), I'm wiped out at 8:30 or 9:00 every night. I've always tended to lay in my bed by 8:30 or 9:00 and read for an hour or so, but this week I barely get one page read before I fall asleep. My husband doesn't even wake me up anymore. He just lets my phone fall where it will. Haha!
I'm currently in round 2 of the 21 Day Fix workouts and those are really helping me to have more energy, more strength and stamina throughout the day. Without those I would be a mighty mess!
Now for the weekend. Friday night about 10:00 came a very special moment when my youngest made the decision to be baptized into Jesus for the forgiveness of her sins. She told us "I'm ready tonight. I don't want to doubt my thoughts anymore." We couldn't be prouder of her faith and decision to follow after Jesus Christ. (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, Romans 6, 1 Peter 3:18-22) My husband, who is the author of ChasingALion, wrote about the experience HERE.
Saturday my husband and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary this weekend, on the 15th to be exact. We were babies when we married and have truly grown up together. Looking back, I know God had a plan that I couldn't fully comprehend when bringing him into my life at the time that He did. There is truly no one else who could probably handle all my crazy ideas and all my OCDness, no one else who tempers my mood and personality like he does, no one else who is more patient when it comes to this hard thing known as PARENTING (especially having a strong willed boy who is now a teenager), and no one else who works harder at leading his family. I've had the privilege of watching God mold him these last 17 years into a writer, a teacher, a leader, a father and a wonderful husband, He's a one of a kind and I'm immensely thankful for him!
If you are reading last books in a series you should participate in the 2015 Series Ender Reading Challenge! Anyone can sign up to participate until December 2015! Go HERE for full details and to sign up. We have a giveaway EVERY month open to those that link up reviews.

Yeah, it's been a busy week for you guys for sure! Next week will be like that for us too. We've got classes Monday and Tuesday. Church Wednesday. Then gotta get in crazy cleaning mode Thursday and Friday to prepare for the party Saturday. YAY for Ash again and congrats on the anniversary (again too)! Not familiar with your books. :( But I'm sure you'll let me know which ones I need to borrow! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Anniversary. 17 years is a long time, but so worth it. The Carnelian Legacy has a beautiful cover.

Happy Anniversary and oh lord I remember feeling like a chauffeur trying to get three kids to their activities. A quiet night at home was like a miracle. Hope this week is a little easier.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your family on the baptism, and happy anniversary too! How exciting! Hope your reads are good this week. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful thing, a baptism. Congratulations. And I do remember how hectic it is when school and all of those extra activities begin. I swear I was in more than one place at a time. LOL
