This weekend I took my kids to see Mockingjay Part 2. I probably won't write up a review for my From-Books-to-Movies feature, simply because it's just been too long since I read the book. As best as I can remember, the movie stays mostly true to the book, but I can't trust my memory these days. We thoroughly enjoyed it! Lots of action, lots of emotions, a few down time moments, several jump-out-at-you-and-scare-you moments. And the ending had a quote that the book had which I loved. For a 4:30 matinee twilight deal showing in our local Carmike theater on the BigD screen, it was a pretty packed theater. I was pleased to see that. From what I hear the movie didn't rate high in some ratings. I would have to disagree with poor ratings. I would easily give it 4 out of 5 stars for an ending to the series!

Did MOCKINJAY II just come out? - that is the only time movies here are crowded. I worry for the theaters in our area.
ReplyDeleteI've mostly only heard good things about the latest Mockingjay movie. I haven't been a huge fan so will probably wait until it's out on DVD!

Happy your family enjoyed Mockingjay! I had a few problems with it, but it was as emotional as ever! We saw it as a matinee too and the theater was completely full!
