Top 10 Books I Read in 2013

Image
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish . This week's topic is Top 10 Books I've Read in 2013. I haven't participated in this feature.....all year I think. This post seems fitting since this is the last day of the year. Out of the 82 books I've read this year, it's going to be very hard to narrow it down to my top 10 favorites. But I am keeping it to 10, there'll be no honorable mentions. Not all of these books earned 5 stars from me however they are all favorites. They all fell between 4 and 5 stars. They all touched me, brought me to tears, made me feel the emotions of the characters in a very real way. Some were very unique stories and a breath of fresh air to the sometimes overdone themes in stories. In no particular order of favoritism, but maybe order of the read date:   1. Waiting for Mercy (Cambion #2) by Shannon Dermott:  It's not often I rate a second book in a series higher than the first, but this is one of...

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post hosted by The Broke and The Bookish . This week's topic is TOO perfect for me!   Top Ten Books I HAD to Buy...But Are Still Sitting on My Shelf Unread. Yes....it's been said many, many times (by myself) that I acknowledge I have an issue buying books, especially $.99 Kindle books.  However, I had been 14 days without buying one - so progress was being made...but I broke that progress yesterday with the pre-order purchase of a book I had planned to get upon it's release - The Clockwork Princess.  With that said....on to the list. The below books are all print: 1. A Feast For Crows by George R.R. Martin After finishing book 3 I made sure I had book 4 but the reality is these books take me about a month to read because of their length and depth and I'm not far ahead enough in reviews to take one month to read one book. 2. Bloody Valentine and 3. Lost in Time by Melissa De La Cruz Though I didn't personally buy ...

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish . This week's topic is Top Ten Series I'd Like to Start But Haven't Yet .  Given the fact that I'm constantly adding to my TBR pile, I probably could list way more than ten on this list.  Listed in no particular order are series names of my picks for this week. 1. Matched Series by Allie Condie . I got book 1 for Christmas and heard a lot of great things about it last year. 2. Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens .   If for no other reason than these covers are smokin' hot! 3. Partials Sequence by Dan Wells .  I've had book 1 for at least 6 months and again, have heard great things about this series. 4. Few Are Angels by Inger Iversen .  So I got book 1 directly from the author for free to read and review.  I tried reading it once and my mind was wrapped up in another book so I put it down and haven't picked it back up since.  Terrible...I know. 5. Blood Like P...
