Feature and Follow is a weekly post hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read . "The goal is to increase followers and make new friends." Rules: Follow the 2 hosts. Follow the 2 features. Hop around and follow others who are participating, leaving a comment to let them know. THIS WEEK'S QUESTION: Who is your blogger BFF? Tell us a little bit about him/her. If not tell us why you need or don't need a blogger BFF. Easy peasy. My blogger BFF is my sister-n-law, Sandy @ Somewhere Only We Know . She started blogging a year before me. I have learned a lot from her, bugged her for help many, many times (of which I'm sure I'm not done yet). She and I read many of the same types of books and we typically enjoy the same books (though not always) so we share a LOT of books, although she's a faster reader than I am so she goes through many of them before I have a chance to.  Our review styles are very different. Sandy is very much like her br...

Waiting on City of Heavenly Fire

Image
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly post hosted by Breaking the Spine . From Book to Movies, Take 1

Image
(Please take note the above cute picture is not original to me, but found at Bobbins and Books:  HERE .) I do believe I'm more excited this year about so many well loved books being made into film than I have been about any year prior to this. Of course some of my favorite book-to-movie adaptations include Harry Potter (the whole series), the Hunger Games, which continue to be exceptionally made movies, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and yes, even Twilight as cheesey as some of the movies turned out. Here are a few Books-to-Movies I'm most looking forward to in 2014. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead Book Description:  St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the v...

Okay so this list might be a little lengthy, but these are the books in 2013 I read, LOVED and decided to mark them as a "favorite". They may or may not have rated 5 stars from me though. Sometimes even a book I rate as 4 stars is a favorite. Listed in order of earliest read date. Dawn of the Apocalypse Blog Tour: Guest Post by E.S.P.

Image
Guest Post by E.S.P. Why Gargoyles? When creating Dawn of the Apocalypse, I had to think of some type of monster. One that would keep you up at night. Make you afraid to turn off the lights. Unfortunately, zombies, werewolves, and vampires have been done to the death. Besides I wanted something fresh and new. Something different. And that would require some thinking on my part. One day I looked at a statue of a gargoyle. And it got me thinking about those pranks on YouTube, where a statue (who is actually just a person dressed like a statue) moves and scares the living crap out of any passerby. I just imagined a gargoyle statue slowly stretching out of its seemingly eternal stance into that of an upright creature. Then taking us all by surprise and killing us all. Well, it didn’t really happen like that in the book. But luckily, I succeeded in writing a successful story about these gargoyles, and I finally gave an image to my idea. If  you heard anything...
