Waiting on The Infinite Moment of Us

Image
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly post hosted by Breaking the Spine . Each week bloggers participate to share a book they can't wait to get their hands on. This week my pick is The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle Expected Publication Date: August 20, 2013 by Amulet Books For as long as she can remember, Wren Gray’s goal has been to please her parents. But as high school graduation nears, so does an uncomfortable realization: Pleasing her parents once overlapped with pleasing herself, but now . . . not so much. Wren needs to honor her own desires, but how can she if she doesn't even know what they are? Charlie Parker, on the other hand, is painfully aware of his heart’s desire. A gentle boy with a troubled past, Charlie has loved Wren since the day he first saw her. But a girl like Wren would never fall for a guy like Charlie—at least not the sort of guy Charlie believes himself to be. And yet certain things are written in the stars. And in the summer...

Waiting on Fear of Falling

Image
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly post hosted by Breaking the Spine . Each week bloggers participate to share a book they can't wait to read. Fear of Falling by S.L. Jennings Expected Publication Date: July 18, 2013 “Don’t worry,” he smiled, pulling me into the hard warmth of his chest. “I’ve got you. I’ll always catch you when you fall.” And just like that, Blaine had staked his claim on the untouched part of me that no living soul had ever moved. He had captured every fear, every reservation, and crushed them in the palm of his inked hand. I can’t remember the last time I felt completely safe. Security seemed more like a luxury to me, reserved for those who were fortunate enough to have picture perfect childhoods. For those who didn’t bear the ugly scars that keep me bound in constant, debilitating fear. I’ve run from that fear my entire life. But when I met him, for once, I couldn’t run anymore. He scared the hell out of me in a way that excited every fiber o...

Feature & Follow {28}

Image
Feature & Follow is a weekly post hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read . "The goal is to increase blog followers and make new friends." Q. Have you broken up with a series?  If so which one and why? Ooh, good question this week!  Two series come to mind that I dropped like hot potatoes.   House of Night by P.C. and Kristin Cast and Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz. I read the first 9 books in the House of Night series and even loved it at first but grew increasingly frustrated and tired of the series about book 4.  I kept reading hoping things would get better and because part of me wanted to know what happened to the characters.  After book 9, Destined, I just didn't have any energy or desire to continue on with the series.  See my review for Destined  here . Blue Bloods is very similar.  Loved it at first and loved the characters but it too became ridiculous and repetitive.  The last book I read was #5, Mis...

Cat Thursday: Reading Snuggle Buddy

Image
Cat Thursday is a weekly post hosted by The True Book Addict . You can join in by posting a favorite LOL cat pic, famous cat art, or even share pics of your own cat(s). Don't forget to share your link in the linky post on the hosts page. For those of you who have been following my blog this year or these Cat Thursday posts you will know that my sweet kitty of 14.5 years passed away in January.  Not a day goes by that his sweet face doesn't make me smile (he is still featured as my iPhone background).  But I am REALLY itching to get another pet.  I miss the warmth and joy animals bring. I'm much more a cat person than a dog person but even puppies sound good right now - and I KNOW I must have lost my mind because puppies are SOOOOO much more work than kitties!!!  I'm waiting on the right kitty to touch my heart just like my Luckie Bear did and that hasn't happened yet.   Kitties are the best snuggle buddies when reading!

Sunday Post 31

Image
Sunday Post is a weekly post hosted by Kimberly at The Caffeinated Book Reviewer . Bloggers participate each week to share any books received and book news from their week. Before I get into my book news for the week, I have a little rant I just have to get off my chest.  When I participate in a meme what I look for most is consistency with the host.  If the meme is set up to be every week on a certain day, and I put forth the effort and time to participate for 30+ weeks consistently, then I don't want to come to your site to link up week after week and never have it available to do so with no explanation ever as to why it just mysteriously disappeared.  I can not begin to convey how frustrating and disappointing that is to me as a blogger and a follower of blogs.  One time, okay, maybe you forgot?!?  But then a switch in host who still hasn't posted it for 2 weeks?  I'm thinking forgetfulness isn't the cause.  That's alright though, I'm ...
